Pre-orders

Pre-Order Policy

Why Pre-Order?

Pre-ordering gives you the opportunity to reserve forthcoming models before they are released, which can be particularly useful for limited-production and high-demand subjects.

  • 5% pre-order saving: Every pre-order product includes a 5% discount. The product page displays the full price, with the discount applied automatically during checkout. Pre-order savings cannot normally be combined with other offers.
  • No deposit required: No payment is normally taken when you place your pre-order. The full amount becomes payable when the product is ready for despatch.
  • Reserve forthcoming releases: Secure models that may be difficult to obtain after release.
  • Allocation priority: Where supply is limited, available stock is normally allocated in the order in which valid pre-orders were placed.

How Pre-Orders Work

Step 1: Place Your Pre-Order

  • Add the pre-order product to your basket and complete checkout.
  • No deposit or other advance payment will normally be taken.
  • The product page displays the full price. A 5% pre-order discount will be applied automatically during checkout.
  • You must provide a valid payment method and accurate contact information.
  • Your order acknowledgement confirms receipt of the order but does not by itself constitute acceptance. Contract formation is governed by our Terms & Conditions.

Step 2: Await Release and Supply

  • The manufacturer develops, produces and releases the model.
  • The manufacturer, distributor or supplier may revise the expected release date.
  • UK availability may be later than availability in other countries because of production schedules, allocation, freight, customs and distributor arrangements.
  • We will update product information or contact affected customers where reasonably practical and where we receive useful new information.

Step 3: Payment

  • When supply is confirmed and the item is approaching despatch, we will normally email you approximately 24 hours before attempting to collect the full payment.
  • Payment will normally be collected using the payment method associated with the pre-order or through another payment method made available to you.
  • Please ensure that your payment and contact details remain current.

Step 4: Despatch

  • Once the item is available and payment has been completed successfully, the order will be prepared for despatch.
  • You will receive a despatch confirmation and tracking information when available.
  • Pre-orders for the same product are normally processed before newly placed in-stock orders for that product.

Full Pre-Order Terms

1. What Is a Pre-Order?

A pre-order is an order for a product that has not yet been released or is not yet available to us for immediate despatch.

Pre-order listings may be based on advance information supplied by a manufacturer, distributor or supplier. Production, specification, pricing and release information may change before the product is supplied.

2. Pre-Order Prices and Discounts

Every pre-order product includes a discount of 5%. The product page displays the full price, with the pre-order discount applied automatically during checkout.

The discounted price confirmed during checkout will apply, subject to the provisions below concerning genuine supplier price changes and pricing or listing errors.

Pre-order discounts cannot normally be combined with:

  • discount codes;
  • promotional offers;
  • cashback arrangements;
  • trade pricing;
  • other special pricing arrangements, unless expressly stated.

Trade pricing is not available on pre-order products unless expressly agreed by us in writing.

3. No Deposit or Advance Payment

No deposit or other advance payment is normally required when a pre-order is placed.

The full pre-order price becomes payable when the product is available and approaching despatch. We will normally provide approximately 24 hours’ notice before attempting to collect payment.

Placing a pre-order reserves your requested item subject to order acceptance, supplier availability, successful payment and the other terms set out in this policy and our Terms & Conditions.

4. Release Dates and Delays

All release dates, release months and expected arrival periods are estimates supplied by manufacturers, distributors or suppliers. They are not guaranteed delivery dates.

A product may be:

  • released earlier or later than expected;
  • delayed more than once;
  • released in different markets at different times;
  • rescheduled without a confirmed replacement date;
  • cancelled by the manufacturer or supplier.

Delays may result from design changes, production problems, licensing approvals, factory schedules, freight, customs, distributor allocation or other matters outside our control.

A revised estimate does not guarantee that the product will arrive within that revised period.

5. Product Specifications

Advance images and specifications may show prototypes, samples, computer-generated images or pre-production packaging.

Before release, a manufacturer may change:

  • colour, livery or decals;
  • packaging or presentation;
  • materials, features or finish;
  • driver, number, sponsor or licensing details;
  • other minor product characteristics.

Minor production changes that do not make the product faulty or materially different from its description will not normally provide a separate remedy beyond any statutory cancellation rights that apply.

If we become aware of a significant change before despatch, we will take reasonable steps to update the listing or notify affected customers.

6. Supplier Price Changes

We aim to honour the pre-order price confirmed during checkout. Occasionally, a manufacturer, distributor or supplier may impose a material price increase before release.

If we cannot reasonably supply the product at the original price, we may contact you before requesting or collecting payment and offer you the choice to:

  • continue at the revised price; or
  • cancel the affected pre-order without charge.

We will not collect a higher amount without first informing you.

7. Payment Collection

The full pre-order price confirmed during checkout is normally collected shortly before the product is ready for despatch.

We will normally email you approximately 24 hours before attempting collection. This notice is provided as a practical reminder and does not change the amount due under the order.

Payment collection may fail where:

  • the card provider declines the transaction;
  • additional verification is required;
  • the payment details have changed or expired;
  • insufficient funds or another account restriction applies;
  • the original payment method cannot support a later payment.

If automatic collection is unsuccessful, we may provide a secure invoice or payment link allowing payment by the same card, a different card, PayPal or another available method.

8. Failed or Overdue Payments

If payment cannot be collected, we will normally reserve the item for up to 3 days while attempting to contact you and obtain payment.

The payment request or reminder will explain the deadline that applies. If payment is not received by that deadline, we may:

  • cancel the pre-order;
  • release the item for general sale;
  • restrict or refuse future pre-orders where there is a history of unpaid or abandoned pre-orders.

No cancellation charge will normally apply to a consumer pre-order where no payment has been taken. Different terms may apply to genuine business purchases, as explained in Section 13.

9. Early Payments

We do not normally accept full payment when a pre-order is placed or accept unsolicited early payments where the supply date is unknown or materially in the future.

This is because:

  • release dates may change significantly;
  • supplier allocation may not yet be confirmed;
  • payment providers may impose restrictions on taking full payment long before fulfilment;
  • holding customer funds for an uncertain period may create additional payment and consumer-protection risks.

If an early payment is made without our agreement, we will normally cancel the existing pre-order and refund the payment. If you still wish to reserve the product, a new pre-order will need to be placed using the payment arrangements available at that time.

10. Consumer Cancellations

Consumers may cancel a pre-order in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and other applicable law.

For most online orders for goods, the statutory cancellation right begins when the contract is formed and continues until 14 days after the day on which the goods are received.

If a consumer cancels a pre-order before despatch, no payment will normally have been taken. Where a payment has already been collected, it will be refunded in accordance with applicable law.

After delivery, the process, return costs and refund arrangements are explained in our 30-Day Returns Guarantee.

Nothing in this policy restricts rights relating to goods that are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to conform to the contract.

11. Allocation and Reduced Supply

Pre-orders are normally allocated in the order in which valid orders were placed.

Manufacturers and distributors may sometimes supply fewer units than originally expected. Where supply is reduced, we may:

  • limit the quantity supplied to each customer;
  • cancel duplicate quantities or unusually large allocations;
  • allocate available stock by order date and time;
  • cancel affected orders that cannot be supplied.

If we cannot supply an affected pre-order, it will be cancelled. Any payment already made for that item will be refunded.

12. Multiple Products, Combined Orders and Split Despatch

If an order contains more than one pre-order product, or a mixture of pre-order and available products, the order will normally be held until all items are available unless otherwise stated or agreed.

Where requested and operationally possible, we may separate available items into a new order for earlier despatch.

Additional delivery charges may apply where an order is split, particularly where:

  • the original order no longer qualifies for free delivery;
  • the remaining pre-order requires a separate delivery;
  • items are supplied from different availability locations.

Payment amounts and delivery charges will be allocated appropriately between the affected orders. Any applicable free-delivery threshold will be reassessed for each separate order.

13. Business Customers

This section applies where the pre-order is placed wholly or mainly for purposes connected with a trade, business, craft or profession.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • consumer cancellation rights do not apply;
  • business pre-orders cannot be cancelled after acceptance without our agreement;
  • full payment must be received before despatch;
  • trade pricing is not available on pre-order products;
  • we may limit or refuse large, unusual or specially committed orders.

If we cancel a business pre-order because we cannot supply the product, any payment made for that product will be refunded.

Business purchases are also subject to the business provisions in our Terms & Conditions and any separately agreed trade terms.

14. Cancellation or Refusal by Us

Pre-orders remain subject to the order-review, acceptance and refusal provisions in our Terms & Conditions.

Before acceptance, or where otherwise permitted under the contract or by law, we may refuse, limit or cancel a pre-order because of:

  • manufacturer cancellation;
  • supplier shortage or reduced allocation;
  • pricing or listing errors;
  • payment or verification concerns;
  • suspected fraud or misuse;
  • unusually large or high-risk quantities;
  • a previous history of unpaid or abandoned pre-orders;
  • other circumstances that prevent lawful or reasonable fulfilment.

Where we cancel because we cannot or will not supply the affected item, no payment will normally have been taken. Any payment already made for that item will normally be refunded in full, except where a different lawful outcome has been expressly agreed for a genuine business transaction.

15. Updates and Customer Responsibility

Please keep your email address, telephone number, billing details, payment details and customer-account information current.

We may provide updates through:

  • the product page;
  • your customer account or order-status page;
  • email notifications;
  • general release updates.

Because release information can change frequently and is often limited, we may not be able to provide individual estimated release dates beyond the latest information published or supplied to all affected customers.

16. Relationship with Other Policies

This Pre-Order Policy forms part of our contract where it applies and should be read alongside our:

Product-specific information shown on a pre-order listing will also apply. If there is a conflict, the more specific lawful term made available before ordering will apply to that matter.

Final Note

Nothing in this Pre-Order Policy limits statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
