Pre-orders

A pre-order is an order for a product that is not in stock but will be in stock at some point. Here at Diecast Model Centre, we use the term pre-order on products that the manufacturer has yet to release but that can be reserved with us for when stock arrives.

Benefits of placing a pre-order:

  • Exclusive Releases: Pre-ordering provides access to models that may not be available from stock once they are released.
  • Secure Popular Models: High-demand models can quickly become scarce. Pre-ordering early ensures that you secure your preferred models.
  • Avoid Price Fluctuations: In some cases, models may experience price increases after thy are announced. Pre-ordering allows you to lock in the price at the time of your order, protecting you from potential price hikes of up to 10%.
  • Priority Despatch: Pre-orders are fulfilled before other orders, allowing you to receive your purchase sooner.
  • Peace of Mind: Enjoy the benefit of securing your models today with the added advantage of paying only small a non-refundable deposit at the time of ordering.

 

How pre-orders work:

There are two ways to pre-order on our website: either pre-order multiple items on the same order or order items individually.

The benefit of ordering multiple items on the same order is that you can combine the delivery charge or even qualify for free delivery. The drawback is that you will be charged for each item as it arrives in stock, but will only receive all your items when the final pre-ordered item becomes available.

Suppose you prefer to receive your items as soon as they are released. In that case, this is possible by completing a separate order for each pre-order item.

When you have decided which method is best for you:

  • Complete your order at the checkout and pay a small non-refundable deposit by debit/credit card or PayPal - we can not accept any other forms of payment for orders containing pre-orders.
  • We'll confirm by email that we have received your pre-order - please add diecastmodelcentre@email.preproduct.io to your safe sender/allowlist to ensure you receive emails regarding your pre-order
  • Within two weeks of your pre-ordered item(s) being ready for despatch, we'll email you to confirm that we will automatically collect the balance from your deposit payment method in 24 hours. In the case of orders for multiple items, this will be when the final item is available.
  • As soon as we receive your pre-ordered item(s) from the manufacturer, we will despatch them to you (excluding orders for multiple pre-order items, which we will despatch when the final item is available).

You can also combine pre-orders with orders for 'stock' items. In this case, the stock item(s) will be charged in full and despatched separately.  


PLEASE BE AWARE: 

  • All the release dates the manufacturers provide are estimates, and models are often released weeks or months later.
  • Manufacturers generally don't provide release updates, even when the estimated release date has passed. Still, if we have any, we will let you know and update the release date showing in your pre-order portal - we regret we can not respond to individual inquiries regarding pre-order release dates.

To summarise, please be patient and prepare for a long wait when placing a pre-order. 

 

Pre-order Terms:

  • All descriptions, specifications and images used on pre-order items are provisional, and the actual production item may vary from that listed on our website.
  • Release dates are subject to change; they may be earlier than quoted but most often later.
  • A non-refundable deposit of at least 10% is payable by debit/credit card or PayPal when placing your pre-order.
  • We will collect your balance payment once we have a confirmed arrival date for your pre-ordered item(s), which will be no longer than two weeks before the planned despatch of your item(s).
  • We will give you 24 hours notice of us collecting the balance from the deposit payment method.
  • Where we cannot collect the balance payment on your pre-order, we will hold the pre-ordered items for you for 72 hours, pending an alternative payment.
  • We will cancel your pre-order if we cannot collect the balance payment due on your pre-order after 72 hours have expired since our first attempt.
  • We cannot accept full payments or early payment of balances. If you do this, we will have to cancel your order as it may invalidate our agreement with your payment provider.
  • Pre-orders are fulfilled on a 'first come, first served' basis. On occasions, such as when a manufacturer reduces production quantity or an item is in high demand, we may not be able to fulfil your pre-order, and we reserve the right to cancel your pre-order and accept no responsibility nor provide compensation for any losses, inconvenience or disappointment.
  • If you cancel your pre-order, we will retain your deposit to help cover our administration costs, stocking costs, and our loss of profit. Where we can sell your pre-ordered item to another customer within 7 days or cancel it with our suppliers, we will refund your deposit less a fair deduction for our administration costs.
  • You can cancel your pre-order in your pre-order portal or by contacting us using any of our contact methods shown on our website.
  • If we cancel your pre-order due to insufficient stock received by us, we will refund your deposit in full.
  • If we cancel your pre-order due to non-payment, we will retain your deposit to help cover our administration costs, stocking costs, and our loss of profit.
  • We reserve the right to refuse pre-orders from any customer for any reason.
